Backwater Fishing Pretty Hot As We Enter the Summer

Amelia Island Back Country Fishing

I’ve had some really good trips the last few weeks as the “heat” picks up for the summer.  Most of the Redfish we’ve been catching are up near the marsh grass on high tides, or on the edges of the shell beds on teh lower tides. The Seatrout have gotten bigger – we had two that were over 20″ last week and the Flounder bite has been really good. You have to work thru the Sharks – our Friday trip we counted 8 hookups and the Jack Crevalle and Ladyfish can be annoying, but the Mangrove Snapper help to fill a fish box.
