Big Talbot Island/Sawpit Creek is just over the south end bridge. Head south down A1A/First Coast Highway. You’ll pass thru three roundabouts at the Omni Amelia Island. After the 3rd roundabout go three more miles and over a long bridge. Immediately on the other side turn right into Big Talbot Island Park, bear right into car parking and park. There is a $2 per person fee. If you walk down the long lane to the west of parking you will see the boa ramp. Some people walk out on to the rocks south of the ramp and fish a large marsh drainage or out into the river. You’ll can pull your vehicle down here and unload, but do it quickly, and do not leave your vehicle there! That area is for vehicles with trailers to turn around.
Note: There are signs up that state no fishing within 200 feet of the boat ramp.
Fish bottom rigs such as a Fish Finder rig or Carolina rig, or jigs with live bait or artificial plastics. Or use a slip float with live shrimp fished deep.
