Crabbing at Goffinsville Park

November 16, 2022

I wrapped up a backcountry fishing trip today out at Goffinsville Park and as I was walking up to get the truck I came across Prince, a  crab angler who had a good “mess” of Blue Crab in his cooler. The tide had been coming for a few hours – normally I see folks walking along the beach to the south of the boat ramp and crabbing but this angler was dropping a crab net off the walk and getting  his crabs. He had the net baited with a chicken quarter and would leave it in the water for just a while then quickly pull up the string to close the net and secure his catch.

Goffinsville Park is a great place to take  your kids (or grandkids) –  I took mine a few years ago. The park has restrooms, picnic tables, a walking trail, playground and a fishing pier.
