Hot Bite On Cold Morning

December 26, 2022

I ran in to Capt George Smith with Her Money Fishing Charters, out at Goffinsville Park as he was coming in with some guests visiting from Michigan. They had launched this morning with temperatures at 23 degrees – now that’s cold! But they had a bait well full of live shrimp and forecasted sunny skies. As you can see in the below video, they did good!  Capt George reported that they were fishing adjustable floats in about 8′ of water, baited with live shrimp. The bite really got hot on the last of an incoming tide, which was about noon. They had their limit of Seatrout which measured up to 19″, a couple of nice Sheepshead and a couple of Black “puppy” Drum. Although they didn’t have a Slot Red, they stayed busy catching “feisty” ones, and they reported catching a Georgia tagged Redfish, twice!
