Sawpit Creek Boat Ramp

Sawpit Creek Boat Ramp is actually just off-island, south over the bridge at 12157 Heckscher Drive, Jacksonville. This is down past the Omni Amelia Island, just over the bridge, then immediately on the other side turn right into Big Talbot Island Park. This is a State of Florida facility.  Car parking is to the right, trailer parking to the left. The ramp is open 24 hours. There is a $4 fee for vehicles with trailers and a $3 fee for just vehicles. The boat ramp is paved with some lighting. It has a long lane down the the ramp which can accommodate a single trailer. There is trailer parking for about 50 trailers. Restrooms are available at the trailer parking.

Access to Sawpit Creek, the bridges, the intercoastal, Nassau River, Nassau Sound, and the ocean.

Notes to be aware of:  The current can be swift on an outgoing tide. Be prepared to have your engine turned up current as you come off the trailer while launching or you’ll get slammed into the dock. When loading, have your boat parallel to the bank with the bow into the current and be prepared to “cut” onto your trailer. There is a sharp turn around at the ramp. Be prepared to launch and move your vehicle.

The dock, at high tide, can accommodate 2-3 boats.
