Tripletail in the Backwaters

I got a report from Tandy Morton that he and his grandson were fishing the high tide with float rigs and live shrimp and were catching “rat” reds pretty handily. There was barely any movement when his grandson hooked up and landed this nice Tripletail. He went back to the edge and hooked up with another, even bigger! They measured right at 19″ and 21″. Tandy noted that most Tripletail that he has caught are out on the open water.  Note, I had a couple of Tripletail caught a week or so ago – two different trips, but both caught within 20 yards of each other!
